Colour chosen for the light your rooms actually get, tested on your walls rather than picked from a chart under showroom lighting.
Colour behaves differently here. Perth light is harder and brighter than most of the country, which pushes whites cooler and makes mid-tones read darker than they do on a chart. A colour chosen in a showroom frequently disappoints on a west-facing wall at four in the afternoon.
Exterior colour is also a performance choice. Light neutrals, warm whites, soft greys and muted earth tones reflect heat and hold up better against UV fading than saturated dark colours, which lose depth fastest on the elevations that take the most sun.
We work through colour on site, with sample pots on the actual walls, viewed in morning and afternoon light before the decision is locked in.
