How much does it cost to paint a house in Perth?

It depends on the size of your home, its condition, access and how much preparation the surfaces need. Condition often moves the price more than size, because repairs and prep are labour. How often should a house exterior be repainted in Perth?

Often sooner than the tin suggests, and it depends on prep, coating and exposure. Perth has one of the highest UV loads of any Australian capital, and coastal suburbs add salt spray. Do painters have to be registered in Western Australia?

Yes. Under the Building Services (Registration) Act 2011, anyone contracting painting work over $1,000 in the prescribed areas of WA must be a registered painting contractor. When is the best time of year to paint in Perth?

Do I need to move out while you paint?

What preparation is included in the quote?

Washing, filling, sanding and priming, as each surface needs, plus any repairs we flag before starting. Every prep step is itemised in your written quote, so nothing appears later as an extra. See how quoting works across our painting services.

Can you paint a strata or commercial property outside business hours?

Yes. We stage offices, shops and apartment complexes around trading hours and resident access, including after hours and weekends. Common areas, stairwells and car parks are done in sequence so the building stays usable throughout. See strata painting and after-hours office painting.

How long does a repaint take?

A three-bedroom interior usually takes three to five working days. A full exterior depends on the surface, access and how much repair is needed. Either way, the expected time frame is written into your quote. Room-by-room detail is on our interior painting page.

Can you paint a Colorbond fence?

Yes, and preparation is most of the job. Old Colorbond chalks rather than peels, so the powder has to be washed and degreased off before a primer that keys into the factory coating goes on. Skip that and the new paint lifts within a season. Done properly, it costs a fraction of replacing the fence. More on Colorbond fence painting.

Which exterior colours last best in Perth?

Light neutrals, warm whites, soft greys and muted earth tones last best. They reflect heat and fade less in UV than strong dark colours, which lose depth fastest on north and west walls. A colour consultant can test samples on your walls before you commit.

Do you paint rendered and limestone walls?

Yes, and each needs a different system. Limestone needs a breathable coating so moisture can escape from the stone. The wrong sealer traps water and causes spalling, where the surface flakes away. Render needs cracks filled with a flexible compound first. Limestone is common on older homes, such as many in Fremantle.
