Yes. We stage the work one elevation or stairwell at a time and give the strata manager a schedule in advance. Residents get notice before we reach their balcony, so they can move plants and furniture. Entries and walkways stay open, with barriers around the areas we are working on.
Strong wind can stop work at height and blow sand onto wet paint. Afternoon sea breezes are common on this stretch of coast, so high or exposed areas are often done in the morning. On a day that is too windy, we move to sheltered areas or reschedule that stage.
Salt gets into chips and joints in the coating, and the steel starts rusting underneath. Painting straight over that rust only hides it for a short while. We wire brush or grind it back, treat it, prime it and then apply the topcoats. Badly corroded sections may need a metal fabricator first.
